Color Pop

Too often I let the troubles of the day to day pull my attention. I see things that appear as barren and dead and find myself trying to strive to bring it back to life.

This is my pride.

Frustrated, I’m gently reminded I don’t hold that kind of power. And God in His sovereignty shows me that there are still pieces alive and thriving that He is sustaining…beautiful pops of color…signs of life…to point me to the Hope I should cling to.

If I fix my eyes on that pop of color, suddenly my gaze is adjusted and I can see the beauty in all that surrounds it, regardless of the season.

Only by His grace can I truly give thanks for the blessings He has given me.

I get to live this life to which He has called me, including the highs and the lows, and if I cling to the Hope given to me by His death on the cross, it doesn’t matter if there is ever anything else for which to give thanks.

He is all I’ve ever needed.

I choose to live my life in remembrance of that sacrifice…with immeasurable gratitude.

“give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭18‬
